The melancholy of music, winter turning into spring and Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn.
Some people are just so beautiful inside and out. And when they ask me to paint something for them, I just know it’s going to be a theme just as wonderful as they are, even before they say what it is. Stela (described above) asked me to paint for her “the melancholy of music and winter turning into spring”. I loved her request and I worked on it in such a blissful serene state, listening to Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Fawn that seemed so suited for this painting.
